D'uccle Thread

No I didn't know there was a club for them.

My little pullet is a bad biter. When you pick her up she will grab ahold of your finger and not let go. It doesn't really hurt since she's very small, only the size of our biggest Sebright. Do you know of anyways to help her stop biting?

And huggin her and squeezing her and calling her George....

Once you start delving into Booted Bantams and d'Uccles, you'll fall in love! Such interesting little chickens, and mostly calm and friendly. Hand feeding is a big thumbs up, and doing it at least once daily if not more often. Also, come at her from low, not above her head, to not make her feel threatened. Might help....

I've held them both of them without problems with biting. I forgot to mention their names yesterday, Bonnie & Clyde is what they are now being called. The pair is inseparable. If one gets lost from the other they will call out until they can see eachother them go running to the other one. It's so adorable.

Thanks for the happy thoughts Coffee... pretty certain that Midas is a boy... Will try to get pics of the black mottled babies... one has a little gold leakage on the back of her neck, but the other is just black and white so far. So far nothing screaming roo so will wait another week and then post pics again. It was literally days between my- I am not sure picture, to my - oh my gosh, that is a roo pic.

Have a great day everyone...love seeing our d'uccle pics

Sure hope it goes your way. Hatching these guys are a blast, and they are small which means you can have more.
