D'uccle Thread

They're still considered D'uccles though right? If I bred my two together is there any chance of having bearded babies? Or if I get a couple bearded hens will that produce bearded chicks? I'm new to the D'uccles and I'm wondering lots of things. They're defiantly not like the Phoenixes

If you breed a bearded d'Uccle to a bearded d'Uccle, I'm almost positive that you will get bearded chicks. And to your first question, no they are not considered d'Uccles, but Booted Bantams.

I too really want to hear this reply...got one bearded hen and one booted cock and hen. Wonder how this works. Anyone?

Yes, you can breed them together for some d'Uccle babies. You'll probably get some Booted babes, too!

Quote: They don't get out that often and they are on sand. It seems to work. I use pine shavings or dust what ever my Amish friend has. I trade chips for it. If they get out on grass it is only for a little while in the evening when all other roosters are in their run.

Booted Bantams are much more commonly found in the UK, and not so much here. Did you know there's a club for them? http://www.belgianduccle.org/ The website is in pretty bad shape, but there are plans afoot to improve it and make it useful once again. There is still some excellent information there! Wegotchickens has a lot of information on it.
