I would definitely keep an eye out for those dog's owners, they are responsible! They owe you an apology and they ought to replace your birds. Though it isn't the same............. i very nearly had a similar occurrence with the neighbor's dog, and a friend's dog, a family member's dog, and a stray cat................. everyone always says "Oh, he/she just wants to play, he/she would never do that, but they do. So i had to put up a fence, since i can't trust the owners to be responsible.

So sorry.

ah got ya, havent checked in here in a while, knew last year a couple were working on them, but hadnt heard any follow up. Looking to add it into my d'anvers

I have no more d'Uccles, two stray dogs came into my front yard yesterday, and killed all five before I could run them off.

It was a nice day so I let them out in the yard to forage and they did not have a chance, my poor d'Uccles are not afraid of dogs cause our dogs are all trained to be nice to the chickens. I am so sad.


P.S. I will probably be looking for some d'uccle eggs in the spring, if anyone has a suggestion.

Geez, I have a hard time losing just one and will spend hours looking for it. I can't imagine losing all five. Of Course, that dog would be mysteriously shot or poisoned or some such horrific death. You should report the dog, because now that it has tasted fresh chicken, it will be a chicken killer forever. You owe it to yourself and anyone else in the neighborhood to have the dog intercepted by the pound.
