How did he die? It seemed kind of sudden. Hope you can find another bird like him!

Was it a chick? Was there a delay in delivery? If it was a chick, it should have had others to keep it warm. I have shipped over 400 birds in the last 3 years (not chicks) & never had a casualty.

It was a chick and with 17 other chicks. Not a delay, actually came early. It was long dead though...

It's alright. It was very saddening. Looking forward to the little one. Yes I only ordered on because the hatchery was on an extreme low of D'uccles. I'm thinking about getting another but not sure if introducing one to the flock is worth the struggle. Do you have any experience in that?

Thought I'd post some pics of my Golden Necks. They are hatchery birds, but to get this variety meant that I had to start SOMEWHERE

idk how he died he was fine, then i went to put everyone away that night and he was laying down hardly breathing. he died aboit 15 mins after that. I was thinking he had a heart attack as he had very dark purple points on his comb. ive heard that dark points is an indication of heart problems. He was the sweetist thing ever i hope i can find another self blue roo, though i will never be able to replace him.

How do you keep your duccles so that the booted feathers dont keep breaking? Can't seem to find the answer... We were excited to finally find live birds from a apa breeder but now need a bit of info. :/
