d'uccle with a "bum" leg (update getting worse - Video too)

Thanks speckledhen you have some great info in the page... I'm afraid she's a little too big for a chick chair .. and I don't know if she'd stay still long enough for a donut to give her any comfort... (I just asked about pulling/cutting feathers) After I remove the ones that I think are causing some problems I'll probably give her some baby asprin as I do think she is very uncomfortable... (I assume this because after she tries to move she starts breathing very heavy and fluffs all her feathers up like she is cold).

maybe we can find a common link to this problem and fix it!

fishermom - that's what my girl looked like about 4 days ago... she progressively started moving less and less - but she is very happily chomping away at the food in front of her (she's not as excited about water).

I'll try some video's too.

Well me too! I had a pullet about the same age as the one in the video all of a sudden start walking like that. She gradually got worse. She also seems like its in the hip. This is so weird. Where did everyones D'uccles come from??

I bred my d'uccle from my flock. hmmm... weird! I have 5 others from her hatch, out in the coop, that are fine.

Mine doesn't seem to care too much about water either. I keep checking her crop and making sure it's moving, and it is.
I water her food down a lot seeing as she doesn't seem to be drinking much from the water dish.

I haven't taken her out today... but did yesterday to clean the cage. She walks a little, then sits down.

Are they all pullets in this post?

mines a pullet 11 weeks old too a little blonde bantam girl (I got 3 - the other 2 are fine)... they came from a hatchery - but I don't know which one because the woman I got them from gets them from the hatchery then raises them and sells them.

she can move her legs but she just won't/can't stand up...

if they were mites - would I be able to see them?

I'm wondering if its not a genetic thing with D'uccles??? I dont think its mareks, as there are no other symptoms and normally with mareks the leg is twisted, my girls wasn't twisted it just seemed like she was stiff in the hip. Thas wild that we've all had these problems and their all D'uccles.
