I need help identifying this chicken's breed and gender as well. Purchased from vendor at local feed store as a Buff Orpington that was 3 months old. I assumed bantam based on small size. However, the feathered legs confused me and now think she (I hope) is a D'uccle. She has a very pleasant and friendly disposition.

Comb's wrong for a D'Uccle. They have straight combs. Not sure what it could be from the angle of the pic...The vulture hocks and leg feathers and stance looks like a D'Uccle. Comb is all wrong. Color and comb, to me, say it's a mix.

It's a Gold Neck D'uccle. I think the comb is straight. It's just hard to tell from the picture.

Comb looks straight to me

Not sure on its breed (i'm bantam-dumb ), but whatever it is it has a mighty big and red comb. Was this pic taken at 3 months? If so, you might have a little roo on your hands...

I am not so sure it's a roo. How old is it exactly? 3 mos when you got it? And how long have you had it? My 2 month old golden neck d'Uccle roo has a bigger comb already. If yours is closer to 4 mos, it's probably a pullet, imo.

I was told she was 3 months old when I bought her 3 weeks ago. So, she could be 4 months old. Of course, the seller also told me she was a Buff, so I don't believe much of what she told me.

Well, it will either start crowing or lay an egg very soon if she was honest about its age.
