D'Uccles vs D'Anvers...Differences in Personality?

I love my D'Uccles - they are very sweet and chatty. On top of it my Alpha roo who only weighs a little over 1 lb just beat the bajeebers out of a visiting large white leghorn that was checkin' out his babes. It's the first time I have ever seen my chickens really fight - none of that play stuff going on there. Itty Bitty drew blood on Elvis the leghorn. Now that Elvis is in the garage he is back to his chatty little self - but his crow seems to have grown...

Oh I would take D'anvers eggs!

Okay... you people have GOT to stop this. Every time I think I'm content with the breeds I have somebody post great pictures of something new. STOP FEEDING MY ADDICTION!!!

Y'alls d'anvers are absolutely gorgeous. If I ever ask any of you for hatching eggs please tell me to go away. I do not need anymore chickens. (Where is that little internal voice that tells you enough is enough?)

I have d'uccles and they are hysterical. Plus they lay the sweetest little eggs. I don't find them to be very cuddly chickens, but they are really fun to watch.

Hey Junebug! I had a horse named, Junebug!!
D'Anver is pronounced dee-anver. Say the D then the anver and you got D'anver. It's the same with D'uccle dee-oocle -a lot of people throw a y in there before teh oocle and dee-yoocle but I don't think that's right

Hope that helps.

Personally, I think these birds are georgous. I think they look strikingly similar to rosecombs (whithout the muffs) and their personalities sound similar. I looked at the black ones one here and saw a lot of similarities http://www.geocities.com/belgian_danver/
but the muffs...awe the muffs:)

Here is a picture of me holding one of the pullets. She fits right in the palm of my hand. Of all the breeds I have these little busy bodies are the friendliest.

This a picture one of the chicks that was hatched Monday.

And, this is a "normal" size chick that was hatched the same day for comparison. They are tiny but very hardy.

I hope someone will want some in the spring because I will have some available. Here is a picture of a d'anver egg with eggs from a golden campine, EE and RIR. They are smaller than a silkie egg only about 1 1/2 inches long.
