@FunnyfarmMidwest You probably already know this, but just wanted to say that chicks aren't nearly as hardy as ducklings. Of course ducklings are far more messy, but chicks can be sensitive to heat, especially the Bantams. This has been my experience at least. I also found that I had to grind up Flock Raiser or starter Crumbles, to make them even smaller bites, for the first week.
 
What kind?
I can't remember the exact breed because at the time I was looking for the best welsh drake to get. It was a smaller breed, heritage I think. They were really cute, they came in all white or gray and were only knee high (their heads were mid thigh if they stretched).
