@FunnyfarmMidwest You probably already know this, but just wanted to say that chicks aren't nearly as hardy as ducklings. Of course ducklings are far more messy, but chicks can be sensitive to heat, especially the Bantams. This has been my experience at least. I also found that I had to grind up Flock Raiser or starter Crumbles, to make them even smaller bites, for the first week.

I second that! Chicks are ridiculously fragile and ducklings are way too tough, you wouldn't think they were so hardy but after raising both for years IMAO DUCKLINGS ARE BEST!

I bet. I can't wait to add Geese. I was hoping to add some this past Spring, but the breeder didn't have any hatching eggs left after filling her gosling orders. Hopefully this Spring

I can't remember the exact breed because at the time I was looking for the best welsh drake to get. It was a smaller breed, heritage I think. They were really cute, they came in all white or gray and were only knee high (their heads were mid thigh if they stretched).

We only have 4 lovely ducks now, a mallard, pekin, Swedish blue and Pomeranian. At one time we had 8 but a 2 separate mink attacks left us duck less. I would love to get some calls sometime
