Since Faith is able to poop and she's enthusiastic about eating mealworms, do you think it will be OK to try breaking an egg in the run tomorrow morning? It's already after 9pm now and I'd have to get them out and shine a light on the egg for them.

How is Faith doing today? My Pekin gets a Calcium Citrate +D3 if she lays soft eggs and those tablets are HUGE. Honey Boo Boo has to have a whole tablet and it's possible but not pleasant. The tablets are the size of Faith's bill![]()
Thank you so much for asking. She seems to be doing well. Last check, she was in the pool with the boys, welcoming their advances with a head bob. She gobbled up mealworms once again and was so excited to see me heading her way with them. Looking out the window, I see her laying down in the sun now. I just finished breaking up some egg shells and the others I'll leave halved. I'll take an egg with me to break in the run. Here's hoping she'll chose one of the calcium options. How is Faith doing today?
I buy the smaller size calcium tablets for my ducks. They are specifically for people who have difficulty swallowing those huge tablets. Something like that might make it more pleasant to administer.
I've never tried the eggshell thing. My ducks have broken their own eggs and they just eat the inside and leave the shell.
Oh my...@FunnyfarmMidwest
Look here...
I think this Avatar ducks head is going to change after all. No I swear those other pictures I took were just a couple of days ago.
Amazing how fast they can change!
I do want to keep him.
At least for a while.
Since I wanted to keep little bit I went ahead and put her two girl hatch mates in with her when I moved her to the Palace side so she wouldn't be totally new to everyone. Safety in numbers..
So if I keep this Drake as well I can always sell him and those other two as a trio later on if I want.

She is like Pud! Teeny tiny. This is not a real good picture but look how small little bit is there by the xylophone in comparison to the ducks around her.
Btw... They do not give two poops about that xylophone. But it's pretty cheesy it really doesn't make any noise. I have seen one go over and tap on it a time or two but it doesn't really make a sound so they are uninterested. View attachment 2873761
