Peepers' first snow. They HATE it. Wind is blowing 100mph, so my partial roof did nothing for them this time. That will be fixed this spring. They will have 3/4 roofed.

This crazy weather system is hitting us too but I don't think we'll get much accumulation. In these parts we have all seasons in a week's time. My ducks are enjoying getting extra muddy but it looks like the wind is hindering their wet party.
Edited to add that it's well over 20° colder today than yesterday

Yesterday it was 62°F and they were swimming and enjoying "out time". Today it is dumping the wet heavy snow, wind blowing 100mph, with a "real feel" of 20°F.

I also hate it.

Yesterday started off at -5'F here and by chore time it was 6'F (the high for the day). My hydrant was frozen and I had to haul water from the dairy barn to all of my birds.
I wasn't cold but because of all the winter clothes you get wore out real fast.
We are all recovering from flu A here, and this congestion crap makes it hard to catch your breath.

The peepers decided today that they actually love the snow.

Also, they love to slide around the snow on their little bellies.

Just missed Puddle taking a long slide here.

Oh also.... I just switched them over to Purina Duck pellets Sunday. At first they weren't too sure about the pellets. Now they love them! I imagine they are a lot easier for them to eat. Much less messy too.
