I have never in my entire life eaten duck. And never plan on it either. I am okay with eating chicken though. Of course not my chickens. I don't have the heart to eat something i raised.

Yeah, I personally don't have the heart to eat something from the store. I live in an area where chicken barns dot the hillsides. My poultry all live very happy long lives, and then they have one bad day. And they won't even remember it

Welcome! What kind of ducks do you have? Do you have any pictures you could share?

We have a Khaki Campbell drake, Chocolate Swedish hen (I think, bought them at TSC so she could just be a mix but she’s colored like a Swedish), and a Pekin hen! And we are hatching 7 of the Chocolate Swedish hen eggs. Can’t wait!

I haven't had ducklings in so long. 3 years of no ducklings. I miss hearing their cute little voices... tis the life of having ducks. They grow up tooo fast.

7 years for me. Ducklings are amazing. But Pigweed is pretty special now that she's an old lady, too.

Out of my 7 Butterscotch Call Duck eggs I put into the incubator, all of them have little heartbeats so far!

Funny thing happened yesterday afternoon. I saw that my Butterscotch hen duck hadn't laid an egg yesterday, but their pen was a wet mess. So, I put in some wood shavings.
She kept going over to the feed pan and looking at me to get her mealworms.

Mealworms to trade for eggs though...

So, she waddled over to the corner to sit, determined to make an egg.
I have so many ducks, I'm starting to speak their language.
