Duck breed crosses...

After this chick batch, my boys want me to start some duck eggs.

I have a very verile Fawn and White Indian Runner drake and a less dominant Rouen drake. My girls are a Rouen, a KC and a fawn and white runner. I am blessed they are not over breeding! But they do each share the ladies.

Does anyone have any descriptions, links or personal pics that might give me ideas of what these males might produce with my females??

The two blue girls are Pekin/fawn and white runner. The light brown is KC/ fawn and white runner. The Rouen is mixed with fawn and white runner. I love my Blue pekins. Good luck, muttlings are fun. The Forrest Gump box of chocolates.

I think it’s around 18 days that the hens can store the......well you get the picture. You should be safe after a month.

Nothing wrong with Pekins. The mother of those two blue Pekin runners that Magnolia Ducks posted is so goofy. She makes multiple sounds and head bobs when she sees us coming. The Pekin drake from our first brood pushed his weight around and was the first to get rehomed .

Our Pekins, and we were blessed with ALL four Pekin chicks from last spring turning up male, are incredibly stupid, huge, consume twice the food our other three breeds do, and are so scared of everything that they "run" and fall on their faces regularly. Also had one drop dead before my eyes from an apparent heart attack...not from any form of provocation. NOT the bird for this gal lol. Should I have any in the future, they will be for meat only and butchered at the appropriate age. We adore all three other breeds we have! But then, like dogs and other animals, not every one is for everyone I guess.
