No they're really good but when someone hears peafowl eggs I have heard people think it's too exotic and duck is exotic enough, or people act like it's bad luck to eat peafowl eggs though it's not.

Ohhh I see. That's really weird haha I can kind of see it being a little bit unusual but the way I look at, they're just another captive species to eat the eggs of, albeit way more gorgeous than the others lol I wonder if anyone's ever tried anything real exotic like game bird eggs (like quail or grouse or partridge or something like that) or like ostrich and emu eggs aha

I have quail. Taste like eggs. Just takes forever to crack enough to get anywhere.

I make pickled eggs for DH.

Are they good? Do all eggs mostly taste the same then, just with slightly different texture and stuff? I can imagine they're quite small though, forgot about that xD

I don't think I've ever had pickled eggs but it sounds pretty good.

Come to think of it, I've never really had anything "weird" so I probably can't eat it now, too different, but I wanna try it and pickled eggs are actually pretty common right? But i've never had like anything different. In fact, I eat way too much junk food and.processed junk lol

Quail eggs taste like chicken eggs. Same consistency too. If you pickle them in beet juice they get colored all the way through the yolk. Really pretty.

Here's my group! This is their usual volume, but they occasionally do start yelling if they feel they've gone too long without treats (Gwaine, the chocolate brown one, is particularly entitled). I wanted runners because I love their personalities and appearance and delicious eggs and slug-eating, but I seem to have ended up with a Cayuga (mix?) drake, which is fine. Poor Zuko just looks kind of dumpy next to the wine-bottle silhouettes of the rest of the group. He and Azula (the runner-shaped black one) just popped drake feathers this week, and in this video, you can hear Azula's super manly quack!

I love this video. They all look so happy and such a nice place for them. Very pretty ducks.

When it comes to ducks laying, are their most productive years the first couple and then drop off (similar to chickens)?

I have 4 yr olds still laying good and an 8 yr old that is still laying good too. Mine are Muscovy so they aren't as prolific as other breeds and go broody at the drop of an egg.

I understand Runners are very good egg layers.

Runners are very good egg layers. My hen has been laying everyday since February and hasn't stopped this year. She's 3 years old.
