Duck can't/won't walk

Sorry I'm late to respond. Yes like @Miss Lydia said I had the same problem with my Pekin. I now give a daily 'treat' of cut up cherry tomatoes, with the B complex and calcium - she is different duck. She went from not being able to walk and constantly stumbling over things to running around FAST. Also she has so much more energy and talks constantly to me - which I now realize she just didn't feel good for the first year of her life. So sad - but I do think the B complex and calcium is the way to go. Wishing you the best of luck with your Pekin - keep us posted on the progress.

I'm only 2 weeks into raising chicks and ducklings.. So reply is more of a question than answer.
Because of the seeds being fed shouldn't grits be offered.. Maybe it isn't picking up what it needs when outside?
Oh! Good thought. I will add some grit to her food too. Maybe the DE has this but I will try it as she's not walking when outside. She's not doing so well today but she did bathe when I put her in the pool and she's not as interested in eating since I changed her food to just All Flock. She usually eats huge bites of her food when I wet it in the morning - I mean HUGE - never seen any of my ducks eat like her so maybe grit is extra necessary for her. Thanks for the share! Will do it right away.

Thank you all! Will cut her diet to just All Flock and add calcium and B complex and see what happens.
Okay campers, HOW do you get the duck to open her mouth so you can squirt in the B vitamins? She's pretty determined NOT to do that. Think I'll just add it to her water as her water supply is a small bowl that mostly just she uses.

Just do it that way or You could wrap her in a large towel but squirting it into her mouth might get it down the wrong hole so just put it in her water. Does she like her feed with warm water over it maybe she’ll eat the all flock better that way? It would also be better to put the grit separate from her feed but close so she can use it as needed.

How much calcium did you use? How did you get it down her (my girl is pretty serious about not allowing me to open her bill)? How long did you supplement and precisely what quantities did you use? Thanks, in advance for the help!

I cut up 5 cherry tomatoes and place in small bowl. I put the b and calcium on top. She gobbles it right up. Here are images of what I use. It’s what I can get easily but your products and dosages may differ.

2 ml of B complex
1 tsp of calcium

@5150Meg My ducks really do well on Manna Pro. If you keep them on All Flock, that’s totally fine. Just make sure that they’re getting niacin as well. You can add niacin supplements to their water or, the easier way, is to add a small amount of brewers yeast to their feed. Good luck with your ducks! Have a great Sunday.

Thank you so much! She's trying to walk today - actually made it a little around the yard for the first time in a very long time so it's working...slowly :)
