So my duckies live right behind my house, next to the well house and chicken coop. And I can very clearly hear all the odd noises they make, some real loud and others faint. What do they mean? The one I hear the most is a loud 3 quacks in a row, no idea if they are quacking the other away or what. They don't fight or anything, just a rare light jap of their bill if the other is hogging the food or pool. Anyone here can give me insight on what they are talking about? I don't know male/female ratio yet, my guess is 2 or 3 males. I forget how old they are now, maybe 12+ weeks for some. The oldest are 3 Khakis, medium sized, next are the 3 Pekings, a week younger, but the largest. Last are a small breed, not too sure what though, they look like a common pond duck though, brown and dark heads, 3-4wks younger than the rest.

To be honest, you probably don't want to know what they are saying, lol. Especially if their anything like my 16. If you can figure out which ones are being loud, then you will know how many females that you have.

Prolly "Dangit, I am runnin gout of places to poop!" At least I am sure that is what mine are saying.

LOL.

Most of the times when birds vocalize, it says a number of things. For one, it helps keep contact with their favorite members of the group and the chattering is comforting to others. Also, it tells other birds what their health and mental status is. Some birds are more chatty than others. Ducks seem to talk all the time.

My Millie goes crazy whenever it starts to rain. My fiance thinks it sounds like laughing but I like to think she's always complaining because that's what it sounds like. Like "Oh great! Just what I need! If it's not one thing it's another!" She also yells "guys! stay away from the humans! They'll eat you!"

"When is the bringer of food coming with the good stuff again?" Or many variations on that and a lot of cursing I'm sure
