My mother in law gave me eggs to put in my incubator with the 12 chicken eggs I was hatching and I didn't realize until around 10 days into it while candling that one is a duck egg and now this poor lonely duck is hatching but hatching through the very top of the egg instead of zipping around. I don't have ducks and the only ones I ever hatched zipped around. Any insight on of it will make it like that or if I should assist. Will try to attach a picture.

I agree with Yorkshire Coop, don't be worried if it takes a while as this pip is equivalent to an internal pip (in terms of timing). Update us, you will likely have to assist. Good luck!

If it has pipped through the shell it can breath which is good. Waterfowl take so much longer than chicken eggs so you will need to be patient. I would recheck the egg after 24 hours after the initial pip.

Ok. I will keep watching it. At around 4ish today it will be 48 hrs since the initial external pip. Here's also a picture of it this morning. A bit more cracked and pushed but still not in a zip. More like it's trying to come out of a hole out of the top. Thank you!

Did it hatch? I have one that did the same thing, but I guess she managed to turn around and now has pipped again in the usual spot.
