We have a 3 year old female Reuben. Found her laying flat in the grass by the house an hour ago. She is acting drunk swaying her head back and forth and slime coming out of her mouth. Won't drink. Does not look like she is choking on anything. I look around for mushrooms or anything else that might do this.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I'm afraid I'm not a duck person. Drop by the duck section of the forum I'm sure the duck experts will be able to help you with your poorly girl.

Wishing you the very best of luck, I hope you can get her back to full health soon :fl

Moldy food could do it, or poison residue from rodent bait, fertilizer, weed killer. . She probably need vet care now, if you want to save her.

X2 on above. Do you have any charcoal? They are tablet that will absorb toxins. you can get it at any health food store. Also do you have any apple cider vinegar? (acv)Raw unfiltered braggs brand. That's what we use. There's electrolytes to help hydrate.
Keep us posted. .:hugs

A good duck vet is best. There is a sticky with a recipe for charcoal slurry. Food grade activated charcoal can be found in some drugstores and health food stores. If you only burn clean hardwoods, you may consider using the charcoal from your stove. But it is critical that you only burn clean hardwoods.

The stickies link is at the top of the Duck Forum page.

I am traveling, so not able to check in much - thanks for the @ notice. Please keep doing that.
