Thankful for the advice.

However I didn't have to do anything haha. I woke up this morning to find the little guy had unzipped himself and was out of the egg!!!

Now I just need to get the brooder in order for when he drys out.

Awesome!! :celebrate Beautiful coloring!! :love

I had a feeling it would progress on its own if you gave it long enough. ;)

What temp roughly should the brooder be?

I bough the brooder lamp and bulb from tractor supply. It's a 240W bulb which I think is probably too much.

Also I purchased some unmedicated chicken mash and some grit. I haven't added the grit yet. Should I be showing him/her the water and food?

Looks great! You may think its overboard now, but he will grow quickly and soon be making a mess of the whole thing! lol

Temp should be around 90ish for the first week. Then you can gradually raise the heat lamp for less and less heat.

I splash my finger in the water and since they are so curious, they come see what's up. Drip a little on their bill, and they will soon be lapping it up.

Awesome.

I think he is attached to the thermometer.

I placed a stuffed animal in there but he's definitely huddling up next to the thermometer all the time.
