I mentioned a while ago (ok, so really two days, but who's counting?) that I had a duck egg with a blood spot.

Everyone was telling me to just let it set since it had only been in the bator for two days and to check again at 5-7.

I'm an impatient girl and now it's day 4. Well, 4 1/2. I almost made it to five. I gotta give myself credit where credit is due, right?

That is Spot. His yolk was looking fine but now it looks like it is starting to sag. And do you see Spot's spot? Does that look like a typical blood spot? It showed up on day 2. I'm extremely curious.

Here he is from a higher, more blurry angle.

His six other brothers and sisters are coming along swimmingly. (I think.)

So, comments on Spot? Anyone? Is he a dud or is there hope?

I've never noticed the 'sagging' yolk, but that does look like a blood spot. It doesn't seem to have any blood veins either. Poor Spot

Poor Spot indeed.

The sagging yolk just showed up recently. It was normal yesterday.

And the thing with Spot's spot is that it's attached to the egg, not the yolk. It's just in a position when I took the picture that the yolk was under his spot. Is that typical of a blood spot also?
