duck eggs and drake biting me

my duck sat on her eggs for two days is it still ok to eat them? my drake occasionally attacks me and tries to bite me . i tell him no and gently slap him on the head when he attacks. it works he stops. some days he does this others he does not. he is friendly wags his tail comes to me when i call him. i pet and talk to him daily. but he doesnt seem to remember not to try to bite me.any suggestions?

Sometimes wagging of the tail is more of a defensive thing, not like a dogs “happy to see you”. I have no drakes so I cannot give you the best advice.

Also I would say no to the eggs, pick them up daily if you want to eat them.

She is laying eggs and he is Breeding so he is being protective..Drakes change once they mature...
