I have no idea. I can't remember if my first ducklings grew so fast since it was a few years ago. Maybe lack of competition. It's just her and a little cockerel.

Congrats on your hatchlingIt’s adorable. How is it doing?what does it look like now? All my Muscovy look like that. They are either black or yellow when born. Must be a duck thing.

She's doing great. I got her some khaki Campbell mix duck friends. Her feathers are growing in black with some white on her chest.

Time to accept it, Duckie is a boy. He has a very masculine raspy voice. Oh well, he's still sweet. I hear quacking from some of the khaki campbells, so they'll be his ladies.

What is up with the random feather on the back of his head? It's like one long feather. Been there since he lost the fluff and got normal feathers.
