Duck eggs in incubator

I put them in the incubate on the 11th of March

I have other eggs in my incubator as well they have not been in there hardly a week... update on my eggs they are still in the air sack there is a crack in the eggs now but have not broke through should I put the whole to help them to make sure they don't run out of air?

There is shell away from membrane but the membrane is still in contact I have to leave for work soon.

I can hear them chirping.

Sounds like they externally pipped and are progressing normally. Now they can be left alone for another 24 hours and they will hopefully hatch on their own. You can put in the safety hole if you want but at this point everything is normal.

If you put them in on March 11th, they are now on day 31 which is pretty late, how have your temps been?

98.5 we had some bad storms come through and we lost power.. for awhile and the temp dropped. Other than that it's been consistent.. if I put the safety hole cause I want be home till late tonight do I put it where the shell has cracked in that membrane. ? I feel paranoid I really want them to hatch successful. I lost my female duck last week.

No, you'd want to put it at the top of the air cell. It won't hurt to do it if it makes you more at ease.

That temp is low, even for forced air, are you running forced air or still air? For forced air the temp should be 99.5. For still it should be 101.5 measured at the top of the eggs.

Did you verify that with other thermometers to confirm? They shouldn't be hatching late if that's accurate and you're using a forced air incubator.

I used the one that came with the incubator and a digital thermostat.. It's a still air incubator you just taught me something new..

How long does it usually take for them to hatch through once externally pipped and since they have externally pipped some of the shell is cracked but the membrane is in complete contact should i spray the eggs with water.
