love those videos thank you for sharing them! i do live on the second floor with fencing so i think i may have to help her and the possible ducklings over and to the canal. She may need your help once she gets the ducklings off the roof. I saw the cutest video where a person working at an office in a bank building watched from his window the mama ducks sitting and hatching then when the day arrived for the mama to take the ducklings to water this person was on the sidewalk with helpers and each duckling when it jumped was caught then they escorted mama and ducklings to the lake. Another sweet stroy was at an elementary school each year Mama Mallard would hatch her eggs on the school grounds but to get the ducklings to water she had to take them through the school building they would have the kids sit on the floor and watched mama walking her ducklings through the school and down to the water. It was so precious.
they jump off the roof. It's amazing but they are so light evidently they don't get hurt.
they did return this morning!
the male then flew off after an hour or so and the lady walked back over to the pot and was sat there until i had to leave
she stomped all over the bowl of duck pellets so i took that as her way of telling me ‘i’ve got this’ haha. and then when i returned she was gone, and i went to check the pot and she has put lots of stuff inside now. i tried peeling it back with a stick but it’s pressed down pretty tight and i don’t want to disturb so i’m unsure if she has laid another egg but she seems to be making herself / the pot comfortable and that’s made me happy haha.
they both are unbothered with me coming outside and sitting with them which is nice. i took a video but unsure of how to upload that on here.
will keep updating
