I've got 20 duck eggs in the incubator, day 27, I've got 4 pipped for more than 24 hours and a couple more for less time than that. But no hatching other than an assist I did that the duckling was dried to the edges of the membrane (it won't survive). Is there something I'm doing wrong that is keeping them from hatching on out? Humidity was at about 30% during incubation, increased to about 55% at lockdown.... Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated!!!! Is there something I can do safely to help?

Please tag anyone that can help (I forget who the duck hatching experts are).

Not sure 24 hours is uncommon with ducks, not even sure what gestation is, 28 days?
Pics of pips, please.
Had you traced air cells?
Hope someone with more duck hatching knowledge comes along soon.

I’m not expert but hatching for first time- mine are due sometime this week. I’ve read up A LOT. From my understanding- the ducks only have 24 hours from internal pip for oxygen supply in the air sac. I know the process is 24-48 hours. Humidity should be higher- about 65-70%. Your duck that was stuck in membrane was shrink wrapped and you can help him if he’s still alive. I need to find the thread I will look now on assisted hatches. The ones the have pipped internally may need a safety hole in the top of air sac so they don’t suffocate. Whether they need the safety hole or not it will NOT hurt them. Just do it Incase. Use a sharp nail and it will take about 5-10 minutes but just twist back and forth until the little hole is formed.

Usually mine take about 72 hours from external pip. Ducklings take forever to hatch, they are not like chickens or quail from my experience.

I feel like your humidity is good and that you probably did everything good since you are not new to hatching eggs.

They are probably just taking forever because that's what ducklings do. They drive me absolutely bonkers.

I honestly swore that I would not hatch ducklings again because that's how mental they drove me my last hatch 🙈

Usually they start externally pipping on day 28 and they don't hatch until day 29 to 31. It's honestly exhausting to me because I want to see them so bad, but I can't because they won't come out 😂

I'm sure someone can help more than I can. I only hatch my eggs and a friend's so when something goes wrong we work it out. Usually it's storage of their eggs that messes up the hatch, but they're not too good at listening.
