Duck foot injury

I have 1 year old cayuga drake. I've been holding his foot due to bleeding for 20 minutes now and it won't let up. Where his nail is supposed to be looks like it is gone and it has been bleeding continuously. What should I do?

Do you have any blood stop or corn starch or even flour may work. Plus apply pressure.

Thank you, I used quick stop and it is healing now .

Oh good. I had a Muscovy get one of her nails broken off gosh I thought she’d bleed to death before it stopped.

Yes I thought the same thing hense why I posted on here and then I forgot to call my grama and ask, she is a veterinarian at Cornell, then she said get quick stop or glue it. I have no idea how the cayuga ripped his nail off.

always keep cornstarch (cornflour here in uk) if you have any type of bird! great for emergencies such as this. I kept parakeets for 20 years before having my duck. it is a god send. hope ducky is doing well!
