I am trying to introduce my runner who is very human and dog bonded but less so duck bonded.
Generally i exoect dolores, my big ancona female to attack because shes very alpha and kind of a jerk ‍♀️ but today she didnt do that she just stood patiently looking at the runner(trixie)
However, the muscovy orpington mix looked at her with her mouth open. No sound coming out. And then trixie also started to open her mouth.

Just... guessing based on the situation this wasnt a happy greeting?

When dolores met fritter(the muscovy mix) neither of them really did anything they just stood next to eachother. No head bobbing. No head tilting. Nothing. So im not sure what to expect when putting in a 3rd duck.

Any advice would be awesome.

Letting the animals do what they do is the best option, being overly protective is just gonna cause things to be worse. It sounds like their really not doing too much of anything, but chasing and letting her know who's in control.Wouldn't worry about injury escpecially with two hens. When dealing with a lotta animals most “Greetings” are not greeting to them ,it’s kinda like bringing a total and complete stranger into their home ,it’s awkward.I would just put them together and wtach and as long as they are forcefully attacking and constantly chasing her,I’d let them work out.

Yea i was just watching but trixie still isnt fully grown so ive been doing ocassional meetings with them cuz shes gonna need to get the heck out of my house soon lol she has most of her adult feathers i just dont want them picking at her nre growth. Also shes so tiny compared to the other two. I think her growth is stunted because she is the smallest freakin duck ive ever seen aside from a call duck lol

If she is still young the way your doing the intros is good, do you have a way to let her be outside with them where they can see each other but the two adults can’t overly pick on her? Letting her spend as much time out with them will help a lot. By the time she’s fully feathered they should accepted her. They still might have to put her in her place once in a while even if she doesn’t do anything to deserve it but they should soon be fine tigether.
