True enough, but I still tend to operate on an idea of "harmful stupidity should be opposed." Like if someone is offering child-rearing advice like, "Make sure to let them play in heavy traffic" or "tell them to be sure to talk to and accept candy from strangers - especially those in windowless vans."

You folks are being offensive. Please stop denigrating other people who hold opposing views in order to promote your own agenda. I would gladly engage you with my own opinions, without using the childish and demeaning language you're using, but BYC does not like that kind of divisive back and forth. That isn't what this website is for, so please stop. There's no reason for it.

I wasn't personally offended because I don't let my emotions control me; I focus on the facts. However, demeaning language is meant to offend and marginalize, which accomplishes nothing. But I don't think you did that, so if it came across that way, I'm sorry. I should have limited my comment to just the other person.
