It's my first time with them and I am so excited! Is there anyway to candle them?

Are they coturnix? I tried every which way to candle those eggs. I know people say its possible but those people must have high powered candlers. The good thing is 18 goes quick. And I got about 75% hatch rate with all my shipped quail eggs.

I have 24 Texas A&Ms and 22 coturnix. I bought the eggs locally. The coturnix were his own breeding stock and Texas A&Ms were shipped to him. Sounds like the eggs he had shipped had kind of a rough ride so I let them rest for 36ish hours. I think I may try to candle tomorrow but if it's too hard to see I'll just let them do their thing.

Hope they work out. The coturnix and bobs handle shipping fairly well. Button quail are another story all together.

Hello everyone! I'm currently watching some eggs on auction on Ebay, I've got one that ends in two hours and two that end in two days, I'm hoping that if I win any (or all) of them that the eggs will be okay while I wait for the others to arrive. I'm going to go pick up an incubator from TSC today when hubby gets home, so I don't have to drag the kiddos along with me. I'm trying to avoid checking ebay every five minutes though, so I thought I'd pop in and say hi!

What type of eggs? Waterfowl can usually sit a longer period than quail. I always throw mind in ASAP since fertility drops the longer you wait.

2 days shouldn't make that big of a difference though :)
