Wow!! Glad that I found this thread. What kind of flashlight and how bright? I was checking my hen's eggs yesterday and some I could not even see through; others were transparent.

I don't think the type of flashlight matters, though I've found the smaller ones are easier for me to hold up to the egg. You want to use the brightest one you can find. The brighter the better.

I know. My hometown in IL just got blasted by a tornado :/
