Duck Help Needed Please and Thank You

I see what you are talking about. I also googled images and the ones with the yellow ducklings, they babies didn't have the beans....

Do some not have them? Only one has anything on it's bill which is an egg hook-I think that is what it is called.

I tell you what, I am going to be extremely mad if these are not muscovies

.

I ordered them from the feedstore, and they ordered them from a hatchery, I am going to call tommorrow and find out who there supplier is!

Well what ever breed they turn out to be they are precious, I wasn't trying to upset you but I just didn't think your lil ducklings looked like Muscovy ducklings.

I am not upset by you, I am aggitated with how much money I spent, and the fact that what I ordered may not be what I was given. lol.

Makes no difference who the feedstore supplier is: that is the feedstore's concern as they are the ones who did business with the supplier.

You did business with the feedstore; so, if you have been sold something which isn't what you were told it is, you need to address that with the feedstore.

What will you expect of them if the ducklings you have are not the breed you thought you were purchasing?
What will you expect to do with the ducklings you do have?
Do you simply want reimbursing any difference in price the two different breeds command?
Or, do you want to return those ducklings to the feedstore to be replaced by the breed you assumed you were getting?
What do you think the feedstore would do if the ducklings were returned?

If you are clear about what you expect from any mistakes (and I don't know if there is a mistake because I'm not experienced enough and definately not qualified!) it strengthens your conversations. But, I repeat:-

Your contract is with the feedstore.
The feedstore's contract is with the supplier.

Good luck with sorting out this issue.

I do have to say, no matter what breed they are, they are adorable ducklings

And, whatever happens, none of this was their fault

Supposedly they came from Meyer Hatchery. The do not have muscovies online, but they do have white muscovies in their book(what the feedstore said) I will be calling them at 9am when they open.

And furthermore I ordered chocolate runners and these runners do not look like chocolate runners:(

I didn't want white muscovies either, but if they are, it is better than them not being muscovies at all. .....***Impatiently waits for 9am!***

Ok, so, if you are contacting the supplier, what are you expecting of them?

They could easily (and possible rightly) tell you what they shipped to your feedstore and that could include muscovies and runners; but, that doesn't mean anything! Unless they confirm they didn't send any muscovies or chocolate runners, in which case that will add to your ammunition when you address the issue with the feedstore.

So, the question still stands: what will you do with the chicks you have now, if it should transpire they are not exactly what you ordered?

You asked the same questions my other half did. lol. So here are the current answers. lol. I was told it was Myers, I contacted them, and was informed that they do not sell Muscovies anymore. They stopped selling them last year. What I was hoping to accomplish was finding out what they were that I got. Would it have made a difference? No. Would I have kept the ducklings anyways? Of course.

Anyways, so I called back the feedstore and was informed that the order was not from Myers after all. They are from Hoffmans. Fine. I contacted them. They say they sent 3 runner ducklings and 3 white muscovy ducklings. They only carry white muscovies.

So the bottom line is, it is what it is. Nothing much I can do about it accept wait for them to grow out and find someone on here who can identify them :) I love having different breeds of critters:) I just like knowing what everything is. I like to ready everything I can about the breed in question and prepare myself. This time, I will just sit back and wait!

And they may just be Muscovy if the French type they could be different in bill. I just didn't see the lil bean that is usually on the end of yours bill. But i have been scouring the internet looking at pics of different ducklings and all the muscovies have the bean at the end of their bill. and runner if hatchery stock may not stand as tall as your SQ kind. wouldn't matter to me either. I'm glad you like them they are precious.
