Duck hen prolapse

Quick update: This morning it was still in. I went ahead and packed her vent with a fingertip sized glob of Vaseline and honey. Put her in the hospital crate, and covered her from the light.

She's upset, but I told her it's for her own good.

I have a Peking who has had severe prolapses. I've had to take her to the vet so they could put it in and stitch her up. Definitely separate her from the Drake until she recovers. I've had to feed mine Mazuri Waterfowl maintenance so she doesn't produce eggs and continue prolapsing. This doesn't look that severe but try to keep her lubed and put a handkerchief or something over her vent to help it stay in. Good luck.

I hope the problem was solved by now, but I was thinking that aloe vera gel might help because its anti-inflammatory and soothing and healing to tissues. Just a thought.
