I was gonna ask how she is.Video uploading of current condition.
She's a bitty little thing. How tiny she looks in the tub. I am not experienced with ducks, it sounds like you are doing all the right things. Some use hydrocortisone cream on the prolapse.
Yay!!!It has been in since 6:30 p.m.!!!! Hoping it stays that way. She's currently setup in a carrier in my tub, with food and water.
Oh my, she's SO adorable in the tub
Thank you!! Not egg bound. I believe she laid her first egg 3 days ago. I don't have proof it was her, but it was in a strange place, and she's never laid before. It was also a bit oddly shaped. Thinking that may what did it. Been keeping her in the dimly lit bathroom ever since. So even though I was really counting on eggs from her, her health comes first and I hope the dark has halted laying for now.Oh my, she's SO adorable in the tub
I have not read the thread, just came in to where you tagged me on the video, so forgive me if you've already covered everything.
It does look like "poop" crusted on the tissue and it may be or it may just be "vent crust". I've encountered that with chickens and it seems that quite a few threads have photos of something similar. Not sure why it happens, perhaps it's a bit of quick scabbing, maybe tissue was damaged at some point.
Either way, you are doing the right thing, keeping the tissue moist with vaseline/honey, etc.
She's not egg bound is she? I didn't see mention of that. I'd still get extra calcium into her for retention.
You've Got THIS!
