Duck house

This is the new house I built.

It sits in a pen, in a shed in a box I got off a local listserve and encased in wire, so i can shut them up in the house at night, and the shut the shed.

Here’s where my ducks reside. Spoiled little buggers. It’s part of an integrated system in the garden. Their pen( which is pond lined) and their pond is linked to a larger koi pond.

I too am quite fussy about aesthetics and this is as best as I could make! Its a chicken coop that I painted in a soft Sherwin Williams outdoor gray and white. My husband thought of the name and I ordered a custom sign on Etsy. The door on the right acts as a window and I added mesh on the inside. My babies are only 7 weeks old so they don't lay yet but I figured they won't use the nesting box on the left. Instead, I keep their water and food there so they can access at night but won't make a mess everywhere inside. The roof is on hinges and opens up. The duck house is at the side of the pond and I just fenced them the pond area in so no specific "run".
