DUCK HOUSE

It's the size of a large dog house. I made sure each duck has two plus ducks worth of space inside. There is a little window on both sides for ventilation. They have wire so nothing can reach in and the door is tall enough that the lucks can walk in without ducking and can stand easily inside. The door folds down into a ramp to walk off and one side of the roof comes off for easy cleaning

Also, obviously it will be outside. This weekend were finishing fencing in part of the yard for when they aren't able to be everywhere. Any day now we will be getting are ducklings :)

Your dh and son did an awesome job on it. How old are your ducklings going to b e when you get them? There is a thread in the sticky's about caring for ducklings if you might be interested.

The breeder is calling as soon as they hatch. So within 24hrs. I've read "Storeys Guide to raising ducks" and got lots of info and have been looking on backyard chickens. I'll look at the duckling thread too. Lucky for us the lady who sells Ancona ducks also works at the farm store close to us, so I've also grilled her for info! Lol! I wanted to make sure the house was ok for them when they get old enough. And thanks! I think they did a good job too :) my son loves working with his daddy

You can follow my siggie to mine. We built it for under $60 total for the coop, and expansion. We have a privacy fenced in backyard so no run with it. Our birds free range but tend to stay in a small area of the yard by there coop.

So I have a question.... I am not at all computer or technology savy :( sad I know. What does "fallow my siggie" mean? And how do I do it? I would love to see your duck house. I tried clicking on your name, but it just brought me to a page with your info and posts that you've made. One day I will understand this stuff!

siggie is another word for signature, the things we have written that show up on a gray background under our posts. Mine right now is about rescuing ducks and a quote from David Holderread. So look at the bottom of nayeli's post, there should be a link you can click on (follow) there.
