Duck ID

Duckter J stands still like a typical duck, but when he is on the move, he is nice and tall. It almost looks like he is on his "toes" while running and walking. He also dances. It's a weird, stationary shuffle, but it is endearing. The only time his body is lowered is when everyone is at rest. Otherwise, he is nice and tall.
Sounds exactly like my runner! They are so fun to watch when they're running with the other ducks - the rest look so clunky compared to the runner! ;)

Not a runner at all as the stance is wrong

Im pretty sure its a runner

Mordecai has a little bit of white on his breast... I'm not an expert at all, but maybe he is a Black Swedish?
oooooooooooh. very observant :clap cayugas shouldnt have white like that but I think a black swedish is supposed to have more..... :idunno still a very good point though
The brown one looks like a Rouen..
but it has no eye stripes....:hu

Sunshine, the possible Rouen, does have an eye stripe. I can see it today. She has a black streak through her eye to the back of the head, and the feathers around it are a dark brown. But both my husband and I saw the stripe this morning. As her feathers pale, I bet I will see it more!

Duckter does this little dance, in and out of the water. It's like running in place. I love it.

And yes, they are adorable and awesome.

A note on the Pekins.

We originally were not supposed to get the Pekin, but the son of the seller was having trouble IDing which younglings were which. He warned that we may have a couple of Pekin and to bring them in if they do not work out to trade. They are too noisy for the backyard, since we have neighbors close in. As far as we know, one is male and the other two are female. One of the females is so loud, she echos. I can hear her over the TV sometimes. Their calls are causing the dogs around us to go nuts, so we are going to have to trade them in at the seller for more Muscovy. We are saddened, but if we want to keep all of our ducks, we have to take measures to keep quieter friends. :(
