I gave in and had to buy some Rouen and Pekin ducklings (unsexed of course) from our local TSC. My other 6 female ducklings are pushing 4 weeks old and are basically 'outside' right now. What is an appropriate age to combine the two separate sets? I am sure the pecking order will have to be re-established.

i would put them together at about the same age to be on the safe side. A week or two diff shoulent matter

Edit: i put my 5 week old ducks with my 3-4month old female. She was agressive but i kept a close eye on them 24/7. I dont recommend this. All turned out good. They now love eachother very much. I cant even sperate one without the other 2 going crazy

Intorduce them slowly so they wont hurt eachother. Put one set in a cage next to the others for about a week so they can meet each other but wont be able to hurt one another....this is just my opinion

VOX - Thank you. There is only about a 4 week difference in age. I just got 2 unsexed Rouen ducklings last Friday. I already have 6 other females. So, then, my plan will be to slowly introduce them in another week or so.

I know this is an older thread, but for future visitors :). I kept two groups of different age ducklings and blended them together. I took a planting tray (one of those black ones that looks like a grid) and placed it in the middle of an extra large sterelite tub. Then I place the two opposing groups on seperate sides for 24 hours. The next day I put them together and I watched them interact with supervision and they were fine. So I put them all together. They were just fine.

I had a 3 week age difference between the two groups so the new ones were just hatched and I was concerned because of the size difference and aggressiveness toward the newly hatched babies, but this worked perfectly.
