Duck is playing Hide & Seek...

You know, I tried the fake egg thing...and they left me a note that said "nice try" and kept burying their eggs.

Yep it is a daily egg hunt around here. Fortunately mine generally lay in their house before I let them out for the day.

My ducks JUST started laying. But, my hubby had made them sleeping boxes...basically just lined up wooden boxes so everyone has a nook, they seem to like that, and that’s where I find their poop. Si, I know they’re sleeping in there..and the eggs have been in the corners too...buried most of the time...sneaky buggers!

Never found an egg in the pool?

Only a couple of times in the heat of the summer did I find any random eggs in the pool. Those get tossed down the hill towards the river

You haven’t seen my post? They started this past week! We only ate 4..were watching them set now, I have two Muscovy that are super protective so, we kinda think we’re gonna let them set on a few...we have nothing to lose since we had no eggs thus far!! Chris likes them! I didn’t eat them..he didn’t give me a chance! Haha..I have 12 eggs in nests right now...we’ll see if anything happens...looks like the others are pekins

I wouldn't do that! - Eggs are an appetizer and duck might be the main course…
No food, no eggs, no kitchen scraps are left outside here, so predators hopefully conclude: "Nothing to get there."

Just remember Muscovy hatch 35-37 days Mallard derived 28-30 just in case you let your Muscovy hatch out Pekin ducklings

Right..there might even be a khaki in the pekins corner...she’s eating the oyster shell...I guess, we’ll just have to see, and I already have brooders ready, so that’s no issue!
