Duck is playing Hide & Seek...

Sooo... I ate my first duck eggs today..three actually! They are pretty darned good!! They are not near as ‘strong’ as people have said..but, I read on the internet that you can sell 6 salted duck eggs for $22 ..of course last summer I thought we were going to be rich... But I sure wouldn’t pay that much for these eggs. Has anyone tried them salted? Perhaps I should move this question to the duck forum...

Back to the hide and seek...I’m the one who cares for the animals on my farm..hubby does the building...anyways..I hate it when he goes out to the barn and fiddles with the animals...just...doesn’t know their routine, etc. so, now that the ducks are laying...I go out later...yesterday he went out at 7:30..but didn’t say he’s was letting them out!! Ugh!! So, when I collected eggs, there was one less...I was frustrated!! But, I never say anything to him...well, I have, very nicely before, explained the whole thing..but he just doesn’t listen. So, much later I went to pick up the rain barrel because we were getting a lot...and..inside was an egg!! Yeah!! So, I put it in the egg basket with the others, and then Sami, who is my protective Muscovy, went over and tried to get it out! She tipped the basket and started rolling it out!! So, I went and moved the basket. Clearly, it won’t be hard to let her hatch some ducklings in a few weeks or so!!

They love their eggs or anyone’s else’s. My scovy have hatched Runners and Buffs too they don’t care. It’s all about the egg! Even my drake will go in an admire an egg.
