Duck laying eggs

I would love to see some pictures of your ducks, especially your Rouens! Daphne, my Rouen, only lays 1 egg per day at her best (not currently laying), and she would also lay it quickly in the AM before going on with her day. She only went broody once during the summer, but that was easily interrupted. Anyways, maybe you have a secret female?

When do drakes molt their feathers? I’ll get out there today and take a picture of khakis. Could they be a mated pair? Cause even though the khakis tend to stick to the flock, they always keep to themselves. They’ve never tried mating with the females. But none of the Rouens and pekin drake messes with the khakis.

Yes! I’m definitely separating them! We currently have a very overgrown pond and shed that we are clearing out. I’ve seen some awful videos of mating. Thankfully they haven’t been aggressive. But like you said.. better get it done before it’s too late

These are the khakis, the one with the two curls and orange bill is the more dominant one

2 females and 5 drakes. There are two Rouen drakes, 1 pekin male and 2 khakis male. One of the khakis was said to be female but it has a curl feather. However, the khakis are a couple months older than the rest. I got the pair because I was told they were “mates.” I also want to mention that the only drakes that ever mate with the females is the pekin and one of the Rouens.
Don't you run into severe problems with so many boys? I have two drakes and three girls and the larger drake is really men to the smaller one, can't imagine having five!

Maybe I do have a secret female ‍♀️ When I first got the khakis they said one was a female but then I was told it was male because of the curl feather. And then I was told it didn’t look like a female khaki.

Here are some recent pics of the ducks. We have this overgrown pond and they finally found it! They were SOOOO excited! It was adorable. It’s been pretty warm in MI so the pond isn’t really freezing. We tried cleaning out a more accessible point for them. The one picture of them staring.. they’re actually staring into my windows in my dining room lol they stalk me. No joke! They found out which bedroom window is mine as well what creepers!

Not really. They’re too busy going on adventures. Like right now they’re all in the backwoods shuffling through all the leaves like grazing cattle.
