Duck laying on peafowl eggs

Are you going to go get one of the chicks?
Hopefully there will be someone out in the country[if there is any country left in Florida [native Floridan] that would take your pea chicks in and give them a loving home.
Yes, I will go get one if the chicks very soon he told me to come from 3:30-4, and I will keep them for as long as I need to to completely make sure they go to an excellent and loving home. It is extremely important to me that all of my birds and all of the birds that I help live very good lives.

So the guy who sold to me was very nice. Apparently he has been breeding them for over 40 years. The chick seems to be around a week older then mordecai. And the new chick is extremely friendly I can tell that it was hand raised. Now I set them up in cages next to eachother where they can see eachother but not touch eachother. I'll wait until at least tomorrow before putting them in the same cage. Mordecai is immediately doing so much better though, as soon as he saw his new friend he immediately calmed down and stopped peeping. My girlfriend named the new baby Violet 💜

So I just weighed little Mordecai, he is not losing weight, but he is not gaining weight either. @KsKingBee you suggested toltrazuril, and I am looking for it, but I am unable to find any of it for birds. Are you able to maybe send a link to where it can be bought? I found one that is available for a bunny, would that work? I ordered a cocci treatment off of chewy that contains amprolium and ehtopabate for now, but with mordecai not gaining weight I am concerned he is infected too. Most of what I am seeing on this forum and other websites for peafowl, is that the amprolium will treat the cocci, but if there is something more effective I certainly want it.

I think I will not really be introducing them other than being in cages next to each other at least until mordecai starts gaining weight.

After doing a little bit of research I see that the rabbit one is indeed safe for birds, so I just ordered that and it says it will be here in 1-2 business days. How do you typically administer the toltrazuril? Just orally? Or in the water? or how?

You mentioned earlier that you needed a new scale. Are you using a different scale? That might be why his weight hasn't changed. Different scales are calibrated just a little different and I imagine it would be negligible in regular circumstances, but with the need to weigh the chick every day, it would be worrisome if there's no change.

Yes I will continue to weigh every day, I did get a new scale, hopefully you are right and that is the issue.

This is what we use although it is in and out of stock a lot it can be found elsewhere too. https://globalpigeonsupply.com/collections/pantex/products/pantacox-100ml It is mixed 12 ml per gallon and given for two days. Only make as much as you need like 1.5 ml per pint or 0.75 ml per cup. Do the math and make sure you are getting it right.
