Duck limping, not sure why.

Unfortunately, if the duck isn't responding to treatments (whether its an injury or some other cause), you might have to put your duck down. Though, even if the the duck is hobbling without too much pain or problem, then the duck will be fine to live out its life. '

I hope for the best! It really is disheartening and frustrating when these type of things happen.

There aren't any vets around me that treat ducks/birds. The only thing i can do is go to the pet store to buy medicine.
Problem is deciding on what to give her. Is she over using her leg and foot or is she being kept where she can't over do. Also you can try soaking her foot in some warm Epsom salt water. I use a bucket and just stick both legs down into it and hold onto the duck and let them soak. Epsom salt can help with inflammation and swelling. It is also a laxative so they should not drink this solution. half cup ES to half gallon of warm water.

@casportpony is a good one to get advise about meds. maybe she can help here.

Well since i leave in Australia the weather is a little indecisive, so it would start raining and the duck will start making sounds and walk over to some shelter, then the sun would come back and so the duck would go out to dry out, then it would rain again. So it's a little hard for her.

I'm sure it is. I would advise keeping her from over doing, rest good feed and antibiotic of some kind if you can get it. An something to help with pain and inflammation would be good too.At least trying and in a month if you see no significant change for the better then decide what is best for her. Given half a chance they are amazing what they can recover from. If it is an old injury.

I am not sure what you all carry in Australia so I've asked a friend to take a look and maybe she'll have some ideas. As far a inflammation probably not much you can get over the counter but if it's infection there are certain antibiotics to try.But soaking her feet and legs in warm Epsom salt water may help too.

@ChickenNewbie32 , in your other thread @DwayneNLiz asked if you could get a picture like this:

My guess is multiple bumbles and a niacin deficiency

But

You have not answered many of the questions we have asked, I really want to help your duck but can't if you can't answer simple questions
