Hi,
I have 6 chickens and 1 duck.(she thinks she's a chicken) and I built her a pond that's made of 8 by 8 by 16 cinder blocks it's 3 tall and 3 by 4 so about 3 by 3 on the inside.
Wanted to filter it and was trying to figure out best way too. Only one duck. So I think a filter would survive since it's not multiple ducks. Any ideas?

Since your duck numbers are just one, and even if you got a second one,,,,, I think a swimming pool filter would sufficiently be able to handle it. Get the sand type , that you can backflush and clear filter.
I have one from a swimming pool, and it is somewhat old. Not sure if those type are easily available now. Last I checked, most pool filters use a filter cartridge that manufacturer is glad to sell you. (that is how they make money) If you do some searching around, I think you can still find the sand medium style available.
There are ways to make your own. I have seen some a while ago on YouTube.
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:
