Hey! So now that our Henry is on the mend...my fiancé is finishing up our duck run. I wanted to write in to see if anyone had any thoughts or tips on how to improve our run. Or, if something looks off and you have a better idea, please let me know. The ducks will mostly live in this pen as our yard is not duck proof right now. It’s a 16x12 pen, wood coop on the outside with the entrance on the inside of the coop, lumber and a quarter hardware cloth all over. My fiancé also made sure the wire went underground so nothing could dig in it.
I want to make sure it’s predator proof but also the ducks are happy! Wasn’t sure if we should do a solid roof or not ejther
I wasn’t sure what to do with the flooring in the run itself. We just have dirt and grass, but I didn’t know if there was a better way to go. While on that topic, should I just use shavings inside their house? Or straw?
The kiddie pool in their pen was dumped right after I took the picture just pouring rain in it haha.
Like I said, please any suggestions or anything you think might harm or hurt the ducks.. I’m all ears. Thanks in advance!
