My two female ducks were attacked three weeks ago and both survived. They are fully healed and one seems to be back to normal. The other one seems to have extreme anxiety. She constantly quacks very loud and the quack sounds very stressed. She was very comfortable with me and people beforehand, and was very affectionate towards people. Now she almost seems scared of us and everything else. I’m not sure if she is still traumatized from the attack or possibly all we had to do to heal both of them. How can I fix this and make her more comfortable?

Are you certain that the predator is no longer in the area ? It will take significant time for her to recover from the attack.
We have been keeping them both inside most of the time for this reason, which could contribute to the stress. They are still able to go outside, with someone around. We’ve been nervous about letting them out there alone for long periods of time. The vet thought it was a weasel and said that it will attack during the day. We’ve had a trap out for weeks, and have put different bait in there, but have caught nothing. But they get to go outside and swim for at least a few hours everyday.
