Duck sleeps with legs out

Hello everyone, I am just curious if anyone has seen a duck sleep like this. Beaker, a male mallard, is about a month old, and ever since he was a day old. he sleeps with both legs stretched out behind him. I think it is adorable I just have never seen this before haha

Yep, many of us duck lovers are lucky enough to have experienced the 'drop dead tired' duckling sprawl, lol... not all do it, but the ones that do seem do it when they're the most relaxed and in the safest places they know...

My Mallards do that. It's so funny! I call it lazy leg.

Mine did that as ducklings, too. Usually when they were hot and wanted to cool their legs down a bit.

That makes sense. I have noticed that his feet have been really hot. I live in VT and it's been 80-90 degrees. I had to bring in a fan for him because he was panting a lot. Thank you!
