She also stands with her butt more in the air and her chest down.
I just thought of this. Sometimes when they are having reproductive issues they struggle to breathe. She was having trouble walking last night which scared me. But then I went into town and got her this vetRX from our local feed store which says it’s for respiratory issues and when I went back home to give it to her she was trying to get away from me which is an improvement. I did give her some of the medicine in the evening and then by nighttime I went to give her some peas with some chick boost electrolyte water and she started “quacking”. It seems that she may be improving at some times but then others she seems like she is declining by the way she walks and uses her wings to keep her balanced up. But I don’t know if that is contributed to the fact that she isn’t eating as much which is why I am trying to give her the chick boost electrolytes in her water with the peas since the peas are high in sugar.
This is good to have on hand. But my concern is if it would happen to be fungal antibiotics would make it worse. You may want to order an antibiotic just in case
Is there a way to check to see if she is getting egg bound? I felt her under belly and it was nice and soft. I was just thinking that maybe my drake was being rough with her but they aren’t matured yet. I know for sure 1 is a drake because he has the drake curl. The other one I suspect is a drake but the curl isn’t fully there yet. Earlier today they were all out and she was out of the run too and the 2 drakes were hovering over her and that’s when I separated her.I just thought of this. Have you checked to see if she's getting egg bound?
If i were you I would crate her for a day or so and see if she's laying, or struggling to lay eggs.
You should be able to feel a stuck egg if she has one currently stuck. Is there a way to check to see if she is getting egg bound? I felt her under belly and it was nice and soft. She could just be going there to stay away from the drakes since she doesn't feel well. And she has been spending an extra amount of time in the nest they have created, but I just thought it was because that is where she is most comfortable and the drakes don’t go in the actual coop, they only go in the run.
