I could use a vacation from the sad state of media, politics, pandemic, etc. Lets tell our favorite Duck tale/folly. My inspiration is Chuck and Buck!!! How refreshing to just enjoy and forget about life around us

I will start:

We have a teenage girl group of Khaki's that are Naughty!!! Even though they have open range (fun soybean field, large yard, horse pen, etc.)......they chose to test the resilience of our sand grout (between the rocks) on our foundation and like to peck the pink insulation behind!!!!!! WHHHHAAAAATTTTTT are they thinking????? :bow:bow

ah, texture! Mine like nibbling at the brick wall in the bedroom. They realized while napping on the couch last night for the first time that the wall behind the couch is also brick and wanted to get at it over the back of the couch. Luckily everything else was also very exciting so they gave climbing the sofa cushions to eat the wall up for something else simpler 🙄

When my wife and I were house shopping one of the things that caught our attention to this one was it had a decent sized pond and we thought it would be great to have a few ducks

So we got the house, and got our ducks... and they Don’t care for the pond. The first time they went in we had to toss them in. Peep got out as fast as she could and stood on the bank of the pond and quacked angrily at the water for a good 5 minutes

To this day they will go in for a few minutes. Eat a few bugs, kick up some mud, clean themselves off, then sit in the grass on the bank.

They maybe spend a total of 15-25 minutes a week actually in the pond.

Still one of my favorite stories from watching my first two ducks grow up: I took them to a park. Being naive all of 3 months ago, I thought the grass and outside would be good for them. We get there and about 50 feet away from us are two strange women having a picnic on a blankie. Again, I reiterate: we have NEVER met these people. Apparently, Chowder and Waddles had no intention of remaining strangers and waddled over to these ladies’ blankie and sat down and joined in on the picnic. Fortunately, the women were very kind and welcoming to tiny ducks. It still brings a smile to my face thinking of those dux casually strolling over and having a sit down without a care in the world, and then running away from me when I tried to collect them and take them home. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Ducks, am I right?
I took a quick pic of the ducks on their corner of the blankie, both respecting the ladies’ privacy and to illustrate the aforementioned events.
