Hi, my Rouen female is under weight and it’s getting closer to winter. I’m not sure how to get her to gain more weight. This morning I went out to feed them and she was shivering and it’s only about 38 degrees out. I’ve tryed everything I can think of. Any ideas? Thank you

Do you know why she is underweight? Has she been sick recently, or had any sort of injury? Also, does she have a warm coop to go in?

- What do you feed?

- How many are in your flock? Do they allow her to eat or push her aside?

- Do you have any drake's? If so what is your male to female ratio?

- Does she have access to a shelter that allows her to get out of the wind?

- Have you done a full body exam to make sure that there are no injuries?

- Have you weighed her?

answering these will really help people be able to help you better

mine are pretty big lol so here’s their feeding schedule

- unlimited daily feed
- big bowl of veggies daily
- fruit 3 times a week (too sugary for daily)
- mealworms, minnows, shrimp, or fly grubs daily
- in the colder months, a warm bowl of corn or oatmeal before bed + a couple handfuls of seeds or peanuts (not too many just as a treat)

Can you get her tested for parasites?

She does have bumble foot on both feet and I can’t seem to get rid of it. She had it probably about a year and a half.

- I feed them Country Lane 16% poultry pellets, scratch grains and treats

- there are 8 ducks in the flock. Sometimes they push her aside but then she pushes them aside as well.

- I have 2 drakes and 6 females

- I put them in their house at night and I have A fish pond Liner upside down in the pen so they can go in that.

- she weighs about 4.6 pounds

For some reason my ducks hate oatmeal and if I gave them food unlimited all day they would choke to death! They are very greedy. Lol 😂
