Duck vomiting white chunks!

Thank you. I will be on and off today as well. We got all that snow and now its all ice so I will be outside trying to convince my other ducks that its actually a good thing to go into their house. Man oh man, I love them but they stress me out so much. My goats and chickens are the only smart animals right now. They are staying in their rooms!!!

She still seems to be improving and is best when she is really warm or in a warm bath.

I wanted to know. So this morning my ducks were going nuts I mean quacking so loud like crazy quacking. So I rush down there no coat just grab the BB gun and go.

I get down there and there is nothing. I walk around the pens looking for tracks. Nothing. Then out of no where there is a duck flying over head. Her quack sounds identical to my girls and they go nuts! Is it fear?

When my ducks hear my voice for the first time in the morning, or if it has been a while since I visited with them (I mean, like, 45 minutes), or when one of their buddies returns from the vet and they hear them getting out of the car and walking toward the pen, there is a cacophony of calls. I feel this is "hey, how are ya? come over here!"

That may have been the equivalent of a duck whistle trying to get flying duck to stop by for a visit. or maybe they thought it was a hawk.

Glad to hear your girl is improving!

Thank you. She is going better. This morning when I came down to see her she actually quacked a lot. She still hangs her head down but we are on the mend I think.

It just scared me because I thought the duck was my duck. I have counted and counted and I hope all my babies are there. They have to know its a duck and are talking to her I guess. Because when hawks are around they go silent!

How's your girl this morning?

She is still alive and kicking. She started throwing up again yesterday afternoon. I can not seem to keep food in her. She still has been getting the antibiotic and I have also been giving her coconut oil. She seems to still have energy, she flaps and swims during her bath times.

I also offered grit to her which she ate.

Did you say you have looked over the area to hunt for anything she may have eaten? and offer grit but you don't want her gorging on it just as she needs it. I wonder why she'd be eating grit but not her feed. Are you putting the coconut oil on her feed? Hopefully the antibiotic will kick in and she'll pick up on the appetite. Shes probably going to need a probiotic after she is finished with that. sorry just wondering out loud not grilling you with questions you may not be able to answer. . lol

No please wonder out loud. I type how I talk so sometimes not everything comes out for me.

She is eating but it isn't all staying down. I have free choice grit she has eaten some but not to much. For the coconut oil I have been giving her 1/4 of a teaspoon with the syringe that I have also been using for the antibiotic.

I did look at the area, nothing I can see. Her check feels nice and squishy. She has add poops though, they are very dark green and that's it. She also hangs her head a lot. I have probios I can give her.

She is not "frothing" at the mouth like she was before now she just "coughs" up stuff mostly after drinking a lot. Which is what I am associating with vomit.
