Duck with a hole in her flipper

How long did he live? That sounds horrible, poor guy. Glad he got to go to a good home.
Gee...idk, not sure how old he was when we got him but he was full grown. We didn't stick around to chit chat and ask questions when we picked them up😂. It was kinda like GRAB THE POOR THINGS AND RUN!!! He died probably a year ago, lived a good life tho. I think he was fairly young☹️, but who knows what a lifespan for an electrocuted duck is supposed to be.

Good grief! She's gorgeous. Absolutely stunning duck. :love

Is the area around the puncture healed up completely? It looks like it is, but I'd check her foot over really well on top and bottom.
@Miss Lydia
Looks like a hole puncher got hold of her it's such a perfect hole.
If it's completely healed no redness or swelling I'd just leave it alone. If you see redness or swelling then start soaking in warm Epsom salt water and put some Neo or Veterycin on it.

She is gorgeous ❤️

Their is no redness or swelling. The edge around the hole is white.

We had a mallard mix drake who was electrocuted in a bathtub with his siblings when he was a baby. He had a melted bill and his tongue would stick out of it. His feet looked like lace, so many holes I just couldn't believe it (he was one we purchased with other drakes, this certainly didn't happen on our watch). He still swam and acted normal.

If it's healed I wouldn't worry too much. She will probably be just fine. Very pretty girl, did you get her from a hatchery?

Thanks, I like her too. No I didn't get her from a hatchery. I got her from a show duck breeder in my area. I think maybe one of her parents might have been a call duck, because she is a lot smaller then the rest of my ducks. Her bill Isn't short like call ducks but it's smaller then the other ducks. when I got her I think they said she was a buff orpington duck, but she does not look like them.

About a week and a half to two weeks ago, I picked up one of my ducks and noticed she had a hole in the webbing of one of her Flippers. what should I do? Is it a niacin deficiency? Or is it something else? Will it heal? Does anyone have any ideas? Thank youView attachment 2750448View attachment 2750450
I had a Cayuga that had a hole in her web, It was healed up just like yours and fine when I got her.
The thing to watch for is.. mine managed to get a small stick through that hole and I didn't notice until it was all twisted up and she couldn't walk. Oh my it was awful trying to get it out. Now she just has a funny looking web on that side bit it healed up just fine.

My drake has a slightly smaller, but very similar hole in his webbing too! I noticed it one day a few weeks ago, but it already seemed completely healed, so i've left it alone thus far. It doesn't seem to bother him at all, and I don't see any swelling or feel any heat. I'd just watch and make sure it doesn't get more "angry" looking. Otherwise, I would think she will get along with it just fine :)
